About Us
Andrew Michler LEED AP currently lives with his wife, Jennie, off the grid in Masonville, CO. In 1994 he began to design, engineer, and build a 1000 sqr. ft. near zero energy home and a 500 sqr. ft. shop.
He majored in visual arts at Humboldt State University in California and loved the sciences. He then took a year off to help his father renovate a home after the Oakland hills fire. When he came to Colorado in 1993 he immediately knew the potential of living a holistic life. After a stint at installing HVAC he worked for a HVAC wholesaler. In 1996, yearning for more experience in building, he started to design and build independently. This provided him many opportunities to learn about the new products, and of the new techniques and technologies that have advanced in recent years. In 2007 he founded Baosol Sustainable Building Consulting as a way to further the art of sustainable building.
